The 2nd International Electronic Quality Forum & Awarding Ceremony for Top 100 Electronic Enterprises for Quality in China, jointly organized by China Quality Management Association for Electronics Industry and Guangzhou DITM Co., Ltd, was hold in Peony Hall 5th floor, Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center on August 27th, 2006. So many senior managements from different enterprises participated the awarding ceremony to witnessed the diligence and achievement of Top 100 Electronic Enterprises for Quality in China. It’s a year with changes for industry from 2005 to 2006. In these Top 100 Electronic Enterprises, including Philips, Haier, Supermask, CPTF Optronics, Lenovo, Samsung, Konka, TCL, and Fujitsu, covered the industries from components, monitor to appliance, IT and communications. Some of them are local enterprises, some of them are the enterprises transformed from state-owned companies, some of them are wholly foreign-owned enterprises, and some of them are Chinese-foreign joint venture companies. However, with different background, but they are all get success in China with the same spirit, traits and aims. By looking back to Top 100 Electronic Enterprises, we can find out the following characteristics:
I. Open style, and take human-oriented strategy Although the Top 100 Electronic Enterprises’ leaders have totally different management styles, they are all good at training the employees with good and reasonable way. “From Austria to Beijing, we think that where there is good employee, there is good company, it is the main strength to push company forward.”, Mr. Felix Grossbointner said, who is deputy general manager of Philips Sound Solutions, “we take open-style way of management in Philips, any employee can go to leader’s office to express its opinion, all the leaders’ doors are open.”
II. Local innovations in U times Innovation must be fit for the local customer behavior and social values. “In U times, innovation is not equal to invention, same hardware may makes different outcomes, the key point is human’s innovation abilities. And the differential is the sign of innovation.” Li Li said, who is director of research & development division of Haier. “For instance, in India, we manufacture wash machine that suit for the India water quality and wide voltage fridge; in Pakistan, we manufacture wash machine that is able to wash 12 robes; in South Korea it can adjust screw in gradient 12°balcony.” Mr. Zhang Shaojun added. “We plan to change the communicate way from e-home to the U-home which that is without any limitations in future. To transfer the feeling of when outside, home is my aside; when home, appliance link me with the world. It is the next aim for Haier.”
III. Diligence for quality, high-applied tools There’s no any shortcut to execute the enterprises management strategy and aim except all the management and employees work in right way and right thing day by day. “Many people think that TQM is obsolete, ISO9000 is not worked and the excellent performance management is lacking of integrity. However, take the experience from Supermask that the problem is not which tool work or not but we still don’t know how to use it in a proper way,” Mr. Tao Yifei, Operating Director of Supermask Co., Ltd. “In Supermask, we consistently improve the quality by H&B management, those are human-oriented, middle way, harmony and balance.” “How to make H&B management be a standard, a system and able to duplicate, make it to be the employee’s faith and attitude, then the employee performs in front of customer and satisfies them, and upgrade the level H&B management again. It’s a complete circle, it’s also a big challenge. It is not easy. ” Mr. Liu, from Konka Co., Ltd. which also be awarded Top 100 Electronic Enterprises for Quality in China said, “We come here for learning some experience.”
IV. Professional service comes from inside The professional service is not done by machine but come from inside. In the forum, Mr. Wu Dongju, Vice Director of TTE Quality released his concept of “Match principle between flat panel TV view distance and display size ” which really makes the people in the same industry a big surprise. “Nowadays, each family’s living room is about 28-30 ㎡ in average, the view distance should be 3 meters. So 47 inch LCD TV is more suitable for Chinese family. “The manufacturing industry didn’t think enough wide and deep for except TCL”, the attending guest said. “In future, no matter what industry, the company should have a common vision. We hope that more and more enterprises can learn the essence of model enterprises and to achieve excellence by chasing Top 100 Electronic Enterprises for Quality.” The organizing party said.
